Formosa Homicide Chronicle
2000・Taiwan・56 minutes
"The person who ranks first in my exam will never make a mistake." In 1991, a couple was stabbed to death dozens of times in their sleep. Could this be the work of one person, or was it a joint crime between four people? Su Jianhe, Liu Binglang, and Zhuang Linxun, who were confessed as accomplices, were arrested by the police. After an all-night "interrogation", he confessed to committing the crime. However, when the case was transferred to the District Prosecutor's Office, the police were accused of using torture to extract a confession. The judge did not accept their argument and still sentenced him to death. The lack of direct evidence that the three men committed the crime, the many flaws in the investigative procedures, the doubts about the incident itself, and the flaws in the judicial system are intertwined, making it impossible to reveal the truth of this case...
