Dark Red Forest
2021・China・87 minutes
In the snowy plains of Qinghai-Tibet, the city of Juemu is isolated and independent from the world. There are nearly 20,000 devout female monks "Juemu" living here. Wearing crimson robes, they stay away from their families, entrusting themselves to their guru and each other, committing themselves to everything to achieve the divine state. Year after year, cameras have stayed closely with these spiritual naturalists, documenting their explorations of profound issues such as life and death, pain and healing, karma and retribution.
