Chinese contemporary artist Liu Xiaodong, in order to create a new painting project, went to the border of the United States and Mexico. In a strange country, complex political environment and refugee issues, he used the artist's innocence and the survival experience from China to find creative inspiration. By filming his creative journey on the US-Mexico border, this film shows the unique perspective of an artist in a complex background, the innocence and wisdom of an artist, the process of establishing a simple and pure friendship between strangers, and a story about exploring "human beings". It’s a human process.
