Beuys
2017・Germany・107 minutes
The famous artist Beuys was seriously injured in a plane crash during World War II. Tatars rubbed grease on his body and rescued him from the wreckage. This experience of surviving a catastrophe made "grease" and "life" become important codes in his future creations, and he is committed to showing the possibility of "changing the status quo through artistic revolution" through his works and actions. This film includes a large number of Beuys's archival footage and faithfully presents the actions and thoughts of this artistic pioneer. Because art originates from human creativity, only by harnessing this conscious power can change become a reality.
