The Painter and the Thief

Two paintings by a female artist were stolen while they were on display in a gallery. The police quickly caught the thief and sentenced him to prison, but the paintings never disappeared. After the painting thief was released from prison, the female artist tried to contact him to find out the whereabouts of the painting, and even offered to paint for him. The painting thief accepted, and the two began an interesting and special relationship. This film stems from a painting theft case in Oslo. Director Benjamin Lee spent three years recording the story of a female painter and a painting thief that is more magical than a feature film.
