The Chief of Yancheng District
2018・Taiwan・52 minutes
Yancheng District is located near Kaohsiung Port and is home to many imported shops, restaurants, and silver shops. The entire Qixian Road carries many traces of prosperity, and traces can still be found in the alleys to this day. This film starts from the legendary forbidden song "District Chief of Yancheng" in 1964. It uses unofficial history as its sutra and traces of people as weft to review the long-lasting love and hatred of Liquor Country. Following this stunning golden song that metaphorically expresses the love between a man and a woman, we get a glimpse into the personality and character of Kaohsiung's political celebrity "District Chief of Yancheng" Guo Wanzhi, as well as the epitome of the common people under the great wheel of the times.
