In 1801 AD, the young King Sunjo of Joseon succeeded to the throne, and his great-grandmother, Queen Jeongsun, took charge behind the curtain and launched the "Xinyou Persecution" to sweep away Western learning throughout Korea. Scholar Ding Ruoquan suffered persecution and was exiled to Heishan Island (Zishan). Ding Ruoquan, who has lived inland for a long time, gradually developed an interest in fish. There he met Changda, a fisherman who was eager to learn but came from a poor family. Ding Ruoquan was surprised by Changda's extensive marine knowledge and decided to exchange his knowledge and invite He assisted in completing the "Zishan Fish Book".
